How Do They Sound?
Personally I really like the way this project turned out, despite the low budget, the sound quality of these speakers is very good and admittedly addictive to listen to. There is a certain sound quality that acoustic suspension speakers have and I believe I nailed it on this build, because they exhibit a fantasticly tight, punchy sound that is even tempered, never stressed and extends way down into subsonic territory with deep low bass that you can feel.
Acoustic suspension speakers are known for having better transients and these speakers certainly sound that way to me. These are a speaker I can listen to all day every day, without a subwoofer. Another advantage I believe the sealed cabinet has, is that it really sounds so consistent regardless of the volume level.
These sound great whether the volume is low, or cranked up and they DO get very LOUD, but the don't "seem" loud. Regardless of how loud I listen, they just sound good, (sort of headphonish' very clean but not harsh).
